Jay has been playing drums since his elementary school days.  His parents finally got him a drum set while he was in junior high, which saved the furniture. He played with many choirs and show choirs.  He also played for many musicals, including "Chorus Line," "Annie Get Your Gun," "Lil’ Abner," "Paint Your Wagon," and other orchestral endeavors.  He has been fortunate enough to work with Carmine Appice of Vanilla Fudge/ Jeff Beck, Ed Shaugnessy of the Tonight Show, John Perret of Liberace’ and Ray Charles, and Richard Sherman of Disney’s Sherman Brothers.  He has also worked many country “gigs” around the high desert, doing recordings for local bands and artists as well.  Other styles he’s played in other bands include jazz, big band swing, rock, and top 40.  Some fond memories include touring with various groups throughout the Western United States bringing music to a wide variety of venues: fair grounds, concert halls, bars, theaters, churches, school gyms, back yards, baseball stadiums, and coffee shops.
